Sweet Rose Creamery

Santa Monica, CA. Ice Cream is my favorite dessert. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day, and I would if it didn't make me get fat. Due to my insatiable appetite for this culinary delight, I have tried countless ice cream parlors, shops, trucks, franchises, and cartons from the grocery store. It doesn't take much to satisfy me when it comes to ice cream, since I love it so much, but it takes a lot to wow me. Sweet Rose Creamery wowed me with the very first lick.

Salted Caramel with Sea Salt
What makes this place so great is that they make everything from the ice cream and cones to the sauces and toppings there in the store every day from scratch. They also use all organic ingredients to make their ice creams. This sort of quality and effort put into their confections really do make a huge difference, and their prices, while slightly higher, were fairly reasonable considering how much attention goes into the product.

The staff was very friendly and allowed me to sample as many flavors as I wanted. They serve the samples on real spoons, which was suitable for the premium ice cream they offer. A dinky plastic spoon just wouldn't fit in this place. I was blown away by how much flavor was packed into each ice cream. The flavors I sampled were consistently strong, without ever being too overpowering or sweet. The Cafe Luxxe Coffee had a very rich coffee flavor, the mint and chip tasted like a fresh brewed mint tea with chocolate, and the blueberry muffin tasted liked, well, a blueberry muffin.

My favorite flavor was the the salted carmel. I order a single scoop in a waffle cone. The scoop was very generous and they finished it off with a dash of sea salt. The waffle cone was very brittle and delicious. The combination of sweet, savory, and cream was pure elation. Rarely has my palate been so satisfied. The five minutes I spent enjoying my ice cream were five minutes of absolute nirvana.

This place has quality ice cream, and I look forward to being a regular here.
